Day 1
Arrival and check-in at HI Nîmes.
Dinner and overnight at the youth hostel.
Day 2
Morning: Breakfast at the youth hostel and off to the city center to meet the guide. Discover the main monuments of Nîmes (Arena, Maison Carrée, Temple of Diana and the Tour Magne).
Afternoon: Head for the Musée de la Romanité for a free exploration of the permanent collections, which retrace 25 centuries of Roman history.
Dinner and overnight at the youth hostel.
Day 3
Morning: Breakfast at the youth hostel. Discover the Gardens of the Fountain. The tour continues with the castellum divisorium the water distribution basin of the Nîmes aqueduct, which runs from Uzès to the famous Pont du Gard. A stroll through the old dyers’ quarter follows, to learn a little more about the history of Nîmes’ textile industry.
Lunch downtown.
Afternoon: Departure by coach for the Pont du Gard the most impressive part of the Roman aqueduct that supplied the city of Nîmes with water from the Eure fountain in Uzès. Listed as a Unesco World Heritage Site since 1985, you’ll discover the entire site, including a museum and a discovery trail called “Mémoires de Garrigues”.
Dinner and overnight at the youth hostel.
Day 4
Breakfast at HI Nîmes, marking the end of your stay.
