For a leap back in time, head for Cadouin where the youth hostel plunges you straight into another era, as it is housed in a Cistercian abbey dating from the 12th and 13th centuries.
During this stay, your students will travel through the ages, thanks to a host of visits and activities that will take them from prehistory to the invention of paper.

Day 1
Morning: Arrival at Cadouin.
Lunch at your expense.
Afternoon: Prehistory and landscape hike at Les Eyzies. Observe today’s landscape to go back in time and understand how limestone, rock shelters and valleys were formed in prehistoric times (5km loop).
Dinner and overnight at HI Cadouin youth hostel.
Day 2
Morning: Breakfast followed by a visit to the Hundred Mammoths prehistoric cave in Rouffignac OR visit to the Fac Similé de Lascaux 4.
Packed lunch.
Afternoon: Visit to the Castel Merle prehistoric site with the discovery of a prehistoric habitat, the way of life of Homo sapiens…
Dinner at the youth hostel, followed by an evening of storytelling and medieval music.
Day 3
Morning: Breakfast followed by a visit in period costume to the Biron castle.
Packed lunch.
Afternoon: Heraldry workshop at Cadouin Abbey.
Dinner and overnight at HI Cadouin.
Day 4
Morning: Breakfast at the youth hostel. Discovery of the Rouzique paper mill in Couze, followed by a workshop where each student creates a sheet of paper using traditional techniques.
Packed lunch.
Afternoon: Colored paper workshop at Moulin de la Rouzique (presentation of natural pigments, creation of a colored work on rag paper…).
Dinner and overnight at the youth hostel.
Day 5
Morning: Breakfast at the youth hostel, followed by a guided tour of Cadouin Abbey, with students playing the roles of key characters.
Packed lunch.
Afternoon: End of stay, return by bus.
