The ONAJ (Office National des Auberges de Jeunesse) is a non-profit association governed by the 1901 Act, established in 2026 following the takeover of the FUAJ (Fédération Unie des Auberges de Jeunesse), an association founded in 1956. The ONAJ manages the national network of HI France youth hostels.

Under its articles of association, it is committed to fostering encounters between people of all ages from around the world, whilst respecting differences. International youth exchanges, in particular, contribute to the emergence of an international citizenship characterised by openness and tolerance – a powerful message for future generations – and help to combat exclusion based on age, disability, social background and nationality.

The ONAJ (National Youth Hostel Organisation) is a non-profit organisation established under the 1901 Act. Hostelling International brings together national youth hostel organisations from around the world. It represents 2,500 youth hostels in 58 countries, making it the largest network in the world. The ONAJ is currently in the process of joining Hostelling International.

To book in HI France youth hostels, several possibilities:

• International destinations: You can find all affiliated federations on the Hostelling International website and make bookings on each country’s website.
• By contacting the youth hostel directly.

You can cancel your booking directly via the booking confirmation email you received when you made your booking on hifrance.org. As stated in the terms and conditions of sale at the time of your booking, the refund amounts will vary depending on the date of cancellation. Please refer to the terms and conditions attached to your booking.

From the moment you send your cancellation request until it is processed, you will be informed of the progress of your file by e-mail.

The refund is calculated from the date of the cancellation request. In accordance with the General Terms and Conditions of Sale in force at the time of your booking on hifrance.org.
