Let your students discover Cherbourg and the North Cotentin region. This educational trip designed for primary, middle and high school students offers an immersive journey.
The objective of this stay is to discover the environment and the marine environment, by visiting the “Cité de la Mer”. This site dedicated to the adventure of man under the sea and the emotions of the deep sea, offers 5 permanent spaces : the submarine the “Redoutable”, the Aquariums, the animation “The ocean of the future”, the space “Titanic” and the great gallery of machines and men. Then, let’s visit the “Planetarium Ludiver”: heading for the stars, a playful journey to the heart of the Universe for young and old.
Discover Cherbourg and the North Cotentin

Day 1
Morning: Arrival in the late morning at the youth hostel. Free picnic in the Emmanuel Liais Botanical Park or on Cherbourg’s Green Beach, or at the youth hostel in case of bad weather.
Afternoon: Visit of the Cité de la Mer. Imagine the great epic of the oceanauts, embark on the submarine Le Redoutable, relive the legend of the Titanic, explore the abyssal adventure of the deepest aquarium in Europe. In the evening, installation in the rooms, dinner and night at the youth hostel.
Day 2
Morning: Breakfast at the youth hostel. Visit the Planetarium Ludiver, a real sensory and imaginary journey into space ! During this time of learning and immersion, discover the great themes such as the Earth, the Moon, the tides, the weather, the conquest of space, through the new scenography.
Afternoon: Your lunch basket is prepared by the youth hostel. The departure from Cherbourg is after lunch.
