The “HI Standards”, revised in 2019, guarantee our guests safe, clean and quality accommodation and warm hospitality in all our youth hostels. With over 100 years of experience, we are continually working to improve and expand our network, working with governments and voluntary organizations to implement quality procedures and high standards everywhere.<\/p>\n

The HI Sustainability Charter<\/strong><\/a> – Our Sustainable Tourism Policy was adopted by our General Assembly in 2010 by HI and each member association. It’s based on the criteria of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC). Together, we aim to improve understanding of sustainable tourism practices.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our strategy is based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SD<\/strong> Gs). The SDGs are a critical focus for us and each of our programs and projects contribute to them.
